For what type of job do we still see market tightness?

2022 has seen the highest level of job vacancies ever, as we approached almost 1 million of jobs waiting for takers during the second quarter of the year.

While the labour market loosened since then, there are still some pockets of jobs where the situation did not get better (or just slightly) and where opportunities lie for staffing and recruitment firms to make a difference.


The chart above shows in essence the volume of job vacancies for the major categories of jobs where we actually see vacancies. It excludes vacancies in the legislative sector, arts & culture sector and the agriculture sector. While some tightness can be present for those type of jobs, the overall volume of job vacancies combined for these represent less than 5% of the total of job vacancies.
